LAST NIGHT, HOMETOWN heroes U2 played their eagerly anticipated concert in Croke Park as part of their Joshua Tree tour.
If you weren’t there, it’s likely that you’re experiencing some FOMO right about now.
Here’s what you missed.
First of all, it should be noted that not everyone was delighted to see U2 back on their old stomping grounds.
Look at the very Irish welcome they received from this house near Croke Park.
But people were only buzzing for the most part.
Before the gig even began, The Edge was out sipping his coffee and watching Noel Gallagher with all the punters.
Yes, Noel sang Wonderwall to a packed Croke Park.
As he came to the end of his set, he advised punters to “enjoy the local band coming on next”.

And then U2 took to the stage to *this* view.
As the band played Where The Streets Have No Name, four planes from a French team called Patrouille Tranchant flew overhead to trace the tricolour in the sky.
Wouldn’t it bring a tear to the eye?
Predictably enough, loads of heavy hitters were in attendance including President Michael D. Higgins and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
Bono described both as “chieftains” and “gamechangers”. The big lick.

Meanwhile, President Michael D. Higgins reportedly got not one, but two standing ovations.

Other celebrities in attendance included Colin Farrell, Amy Huberman and Imelda May.
British tennis player Jo Konta was also there!
The band invited the Wimbledon semi-finalist and she wrote that she felt “truly blessed to be there”.
Sure, didn’t she tweet this four years ago?
One of the standout moments of the night came when U2 honoured a number of trailblazing women including Hillary Clinton, Nell McCafferty, Jo Cox, Veronica Guerin, Catherine McGuinness and the late Captain Dara Fitzpatrick.
Niamh Fitzpatrick, sister of Dara, tweeted that it was a “stunning tribute” and noted that Dara had attended many U2 gigs.
This was the setlist. Raging you didn’t get a ticket now?
